Scott Wheeler is a director, writer and VFX artist with over 20 years of experience, working on 160 productions within the entertainment industry. He has worked on TV series such as Space: Above and Beyond, which garnered him a Prime Time Emmy nomination. Other productions include Golden Globe and Prime Time Emmy award winning series The X-Files as well as Golden Globe nominated series Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. He has worked with companies such as Warner Brothers, Fox Television and Walt Disney. He is also the owner of Rogue State, a VFX and post production company.
Director Statement
Our project explores Artificial Intelligence and is inspired by the true story of an AI called Sophia made by Hanson Robotics in Hong Kong. She was the first AI in the world to receive citizenship in Saudi Arabia so she has human rights rather than AI rights.
My team includes producer’s Lara Heller (Adverse) and Jeff Fuller (Donnie Darko), writer Ryan C Coleman (The Walking Dead), Eric Brodeur (editor on Transformers), Tom Reisner (colorist of Fast & Furious and Sonic The Hedgehog). The cast includes Michael Monks (Doctor Sleep, Garfield) and Don Wallace (NCIS) and Lara Heller (Stardust and The Cut). Our diverse cast are Persian/German, South Korean and African American.
