Get to know the winning writer:

What is your screenplay about?

What if you could heal your passed traumas by playing your fears and anxieties against one another?

What genres does your screenplay under?

Science Fiction.

Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?

It’s a very visual story, the main character has psychological flaws that everyone can identify with and it has an uplifting resolution.

How would you describe this script in two words?

Far out.

What movie have you seen the most times in your life?

The Empire Strikes Back.

How long have you been working on this screenplay?

3 months.

How many stories have you written?

30+

What motivated you to write this screenplay?

I was getting bored at a film festival and wondered what kind of film I would find rewarding in that context. I’d also had a dream about being chased by a dog.

What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?

None really. I did a first draft in one sitting and every time I got feedback I would either re-evaluate or rewrite.

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Filmmaking; I’m a director as well.

Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

Keep writing, get feedback. Rewrite. Enter competitions.
